GPT-5 Pro and Real-Time Voice Models
Sora 2 Video Generation
App SDK
AgentKit and Agent Builder
ChatKit
Major Announcements
GPT-5 Pro and Real-Time Voice Models: OpenAI unveiled the GPT-5 Pro model in the API, designed for greater accuracy and domain depth, especially in industries like finance and healthcare. In addition, two new real-time voice models, including ‘gpt-realtime-mini,’ were announced. These provide low-latency audio streaming at a 70% lower cost compared to previous versions without sacrificing expressiveness.
Sora 2 Video Generation: The upgraded Sora 2 API facilitates video creation with synchronized sound effects and realistic audio. Developers can build rich media content or leverage the new Sora app, which mimics social video feeds to generate and share AI-driven videos from prompts
New Developer Tools
App SDK: This toolkit allows users to create applications—like posters, presentations, and more—inside ChatGPT itself. The SDK helps integrate essential apps (e.g., Canva, Spotify, Zillow) with seamless chat-based design and functionality.
AgentKit & Agent Builder: Developers can now make, test, and deploy custom agents (AI assistants/bots) in minutes. The Agent Kit enables workflow orchestration and evaluation features, such as datasets, trace grading, and prompt optimization.
ChatKit: The new SDK lets app builders embed ChatGPT-powered chat interfaces directly into their products with customizable workflows and admin features.
Enhanced Codex Features
The Codex suite now offers integrations for Slack and other platforms, letting programmers leverage voice commands, sketches, or direct text to build and update software without manually writing code. Admin tools for monitoring and analytic dashboards also became available.
Platform and Ecosystem Updates
Third-party Apps in ChatGPT: ChatGPT is evolving toward an AI operating system, letting users run third-party apps (Spotify, Zillow, and more) from within the chat window. These apps can be recommended contextually, summoned by name, and interacted with via custom user interfaces in natural language.
AMD Partnership for AI Chips: OpenAI announced a critical new partnership with AMD to further scale its computing infrastructure, supplementing prior deals with Nvidia and Oracle to deliver several gigawatts of AI-optimized graphics units over coming years.
With these launches, OpenAI placed a focus on enabling faster app development, greater agent reliability, and scaled deployment for developers using ChatGPT as the core foundation.
